Quakelog is an application assisting in earthquake analysis. The application collects and analyses kinematic sensors data and if a seismic event is detected, sends the events data to a backend server for further analysis. The application has settings for activity, background activity, data mode, and backend server information.
The application is using location services .
Quakelog was developed as a part of a masters thesis.
Location services are used in the background to assure an accurate location is sent to the backend server when a seismic event is detected.
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
